Amanda has been training dogs for nearly 15 years.  She started with her own dog in the early 90′s and then moved on to teaching other people and their dogs after that.  Amanda has taken numerous seminars and clinics on dog training and behaviour modification and is always learning new things. She believes that training should be fun for both the dog and the handler. She uses Positive Motivation (using praise, food and toys as rewards) to get the best out of each dog.  By using positive methods you not only create a dog who wants to listen, but you also create a thinking dog.  Amanda’s experience with dogs range from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and everything in between.  She believes that all dogs should be given the opportunity to be well behaved members of society.
Amanda has five dogs of her own, many of which have Obedience, Rally-O and Agility titles. She competes actively in all three sports as well as plays Scenthurdle Racing and dabbles in Sheep Herding.  Amanda is involved with a local rescue group and has worked with many “problem” dogs.  She has helped create family members who are loved and welcomed wherever they go.  She also works full time at our Dog Daycare.
